Description
In Love With Night was my thesis composition for wind ensemble with either a string bass section or electronic substitute a la Stephen Melillo. This is an exceedingly difficult piece of music (my hand was somewhat forced…) and is scheduled for its first performance in September. Students will experience slow tempos filled with more material than whole notes or chord pads and be stretched to the limit regarding harmonic movement. It will tax the chops as well, as it is 13 minutes long and demands power all the way to the end. Not for under-developed groups.
