The following performance suggestions are to help in developing this arrangement into a rewarding piece of music. You will find a great deal of flexibility in this combo chart, and feel free to organize your performance of the material on any way you like. Specifically, solo order, backgrounds, percussion solo breaks, and other aspects can be arranged to enhance your presentation.
This composition is a blend of Latin funk and Boogaloo. The introductory material really establishes the feel and momentum of the tune. The introduction ideas are three-fold, and then the main theme begins. The brief repeat of the beginning music introduces the solos. The solo changes are brief in construction and allows the soloist and rhythm section the opportunity to really stretch out.
The solo order should alternate between rhythm and horn players. The return of the D.C. material will bring the arrangement to focus after the impressive solos we know your group can develop. Various tempos could also be considered. The Coda can be stretched out and various soloists can be very effective at this point, creating an interesting ending that is interactive.
